And since most of us PC gamers are usually weary about purchasing wireless mice, as a split second decision can end up making or breaking your entire game, you would not want to take the chance right?

Well, the good news is, with the Logitech G602 wireless gaming mouse, you won’t have to. Let us take a look at my review and you’ll see why.

What is the Logitech G602?

Known for making quality and reliable peripherals, Logitech’s newest mouse in its line of gaming mice, the G602 doesn’t disappoint in that regard, as it indeed provides you with value for the money, and as one of the best wireless gaming mice designed for gamers.

Equipped with Logitech’s newest optical sensor, the G602 has impressive handling options with 11 programmable buttons. It also connects with a 2.4 GHz wireless connection that has a two-millisecond report rate and an incredible battery life that provides up to 250 hours in Performance mode or up to 1440 hour battery life in Endurance mode; the G602 will meet your gaming needs – whether you’re a hard-core gamer or a casual player.

Logitech G602 – Design

Logitech G602 Picture 2 (1)While Logitech hasn’t made huge waves when it comes to mouse design, the designers at Logitech seem to have worked very hard to ensure that the G602 has a comfortable design, which majority of Logitech mice are well-known for being designed.

It is clear that this mouse is designed for right-handed users, and the design in its ergonomics plays a vital role in its design. The G602 fits comfortably in a gamer’s hand and will even after extended periods of use, your hand will remain comfortable because of the rest area on the left-hand side that is slightly elevated above the right-hand side.

The Logitech G602 includes 11 buttons that include left and right clickers, up and down DPI toggles, six re-programmable side buttons, a performance mode switcher, and, of course, the scroll wheel. Although it is built with fewer buttons that you would find in the Razer Naga or the Logitech G600, Logitech did this with the purpose of developing a more all-rounder mouse.

It appears that the placement of the buttons on the mouse have been well thought out by Logitech and are readily available to use. Its performance mode switcher button also has an indicator light to let you know what profile you are using. A blue light indicates that you are using the mouse in “Performance Mode” and a green light letting you know it’s in “Endurance Mode.”

Logitech G602 – Features

A common similarity with all Logitech mice, the G602 runs on the Logitech Gaming Software, which combines a robust feature set with a user-friendly interface, making it truly one of the best programs on the market. When it comes to gaming mice overlays, only the Razer Synapse 2.0 seems to be able to compete against the Logitech Gaming Software.

You can use this application to setup and customize your playing preferences in any way that you see fit. Create custom profiles for each game, although you can only store one profile on the internal memory of the G602, you can store as many custom profiles as you want on your computer, and the Logitech software will help create and detect profiles for all installed games automatically. From there you can then customize DPI settings and button commands how you want.

Logitech G602 Picture 3While the one drawback is the DPI range of the G602 – as it falls between 250 DPI and 2500 DPI, which offers less granular control for pro gamers who prefer extremely fast or extremely slow tracking. In all fairness, this is still a very comfortable range for most gamers.

Even though the elephant in the room, when it comes to wireless mice will always be battery life, Logitech has got that dead on with the G602. Powered by two AA batteries, you can expect to get almost 250 hours of gameplay with the G602, and it’s even designed to work on one AA battery to provide you with 125 hours of gameplay. Doing this will allow you to cut down on a little weight while still maximizing the performance out of this mouse.

Switching to “Endurance Mode” from “Performance Mode” is as easy as the flick of the central button on the G602, and, although that will provide you with up to 1440 hours of battery life, it does reduce sensitivity and response accuracy. I recommend that you only switch to “Endurance Mode” when you are not gaming and using it for regular use.

Logitech G602 – Performance

Logitech G602 Picture 6

Just like any other gaming mouse available on the market today, the G602 from Logitech has its strengths and its weaknesses when it comes to the different video-game genres.

Thanks to the re-programmable buttons available on the G602, it seems the G602 is perfect for Multiplayer Online Battle Arena games such as Dota 2 and League of Legends. In saying that, the G602 is also ideal for real-time strategy games like StarCraft 2.

The G602 is the first Logitech gaming mouse to come with the Delta Zero sensor technology, which is meant to prevent it from eating up battery life while providing an unprecedented level of cursor accuracy. And, generally speaking, the G602 performs well across a variety of games thanks to its consistently smooth tracking from the Delta Zero sensor technology. It also provides an excellent wireless connection. And, whether you are using the G602 on a mousepad or not, it feels just like using any comparable wired mouse.

Logitech G602 – Verdict

Logitech G602 Picture 7It seems that Logitech has stepped up its game when it comes to their line of wireless gaming mice – and the G602 is no exception to that. This is indeed interesting. I use a wireless mouse, although not for gaming, however soon I will need to think about a desktop computer for my son and he loves gaming. I definitely will put this Logitech Gaming Mouse on my list.

You write there are 11 buttons. Is it possible to reconfigure the buttons?
And can this mouse be used for left handed persons?

Hello, Fedor. I do apologize for the lateness in posting this reply in getting back to you. Yes, the 11 buttons can be reconfigured any way that you suits your personal preference but unfortunately, no, this mouse isn’t really ideal for left-handed people. Thanks for bringing up a valuable question to note for others interested in a gaming mouse that has multiple purposes. If there is anything else you need to ask at all at any time in regards to any tech related question, don’t hesitate to send me a message. Thanks
